Like so many of the books about Brother Cadfael, I thoroughly enjoyed "The Heretic's Apprentice". They are always mysterious, interesting, informative and take you to another world that may have existed at one time. What more could you expect from a book?

If you've read even a couple of these, you know within the first few pages who's going to be killed, and who's going to be suspected, and who the real killer is, and how it will all turn out...but it doesn't matter. It's Brother Cadfael making the world better in this one small place, and that's good enough.
