Good read, I'm waiting for the Corporate Clan to come out in paperback.
The author has such a great premise for this book and the series overall, but his clunky writing style just gets in the way for me. There's nothing believable (or even likeable) about the characters, neither their actions nor their reactions. The female characters are particularly badly drawn. Still, it is an intriguing plot. In the hands of someone more skilled, it might have been a terrific series.
A terrific follow up to the first novel in the series, this volume fleshes out the fascinating world of the Clan in glorious detail. Politics, intrigue, plus plotting and scheming galore. Highly recommended.
Good read, never fails to spin and interesting story!
The first book "The Family Trade" and this book were originally written as one book. Of the 5 books in this series I have read "The Hidden Family" is definitely my favorite. It's the only one with a real ending; all the others just stop with out any real conclusion or falling action. This book and the first one are good, but the others are only so-so.
I liked the first book very much, but my attention started wandering toward the end of this one. I think it just got too drawn out with the action.
This was a good book about alternate worlds. I liked how Miriam learned about the third world and how she brought new inventions there. I looking forward to reading the next book in the series, The Clan Corporate.
