One twin was killed so that the other could live to save a kingdom. In the second book of the Tamir Trilogy Tobin must come to grips with that awful truth as well as his true identity as a woman and his destiny to betray those who have helped to raise him as he claims his rightful place.

This well written story draws you in and will leave you waiting eagerly for the third book.

This is the second book of the Tamir trilogy. It is an excellent read and Flewelling manages to avoid so many of the pitfalls of the fantasy genre. Mainly, she puts the characters and human elements first. The result is a very credible series, well worth the fantasy fan's time.

In part two Tobin is trained and honed to be a warrior and a leader. Little does Ero or Atyion know that the prophecy of a Queen will soon be fulfilled.

Great visual writing, wonderful caring characters that move the story on chapter by chapter. I love this story because when I read it, I am there. I am transported to Ero, or to Atyion, or to a ramshackle keep. I can even see the sunlight or the snow falling.

When I bought this book, little did I know this was 2nd in a trilogy. Once I started reading, however, I realized it must be a sequel to "The Bone Doll's Twin".
After reading this, I'm glad I didn't read the 1st book! This one dragged on and on and on and... well you get the idea. It FINALLY got interesting starting on chapter 52 (really close to the end!). When I finally finished the novel, I was highly dissapointed - all that build-up, only to leave things "dangling in the air". Obviously to leave the opening to the 3rd book. Needless to say, I won't be looking for the sequel anytime soon.
