Psychologist Kate Holly is ready for a straitjacket herself, between her patients and her love for her firefighter ex-husband. When her receptionist takes a leave of absence, Kate has to hire a temp. Enter Abigail Davis, a competent worker with a friendly personality and, after altering her hairstyle and fashion sense to identically match Kate's, more issues than a lifetime subscription to "Psychology Today." A good, light read that holds your interest.
This is the third installment of Hughes' Kate Holly series, after What Looks Like Crazy and Nutcase. These stories feature Kate who is a psychologist, her ex-husband/current boyfriend Jay, her best friend and receptionist Mona and of course her female dog named Mike, as well as her zany other friends, family neighbors and patients.
Kate helps out a colleague with her anger management group which is held in a church basement, taking Mona with her, and after one of the members pulls out a gun Kate rushes in to disarm her and the gun goes off, the bullet ending up in a picture of Jesus. Kate is called everything from a hero to an atheist.
After this event Mona breaks out with a rash that is blamed on stress and refuses to go out in public. After one day of her Mom, Dixie stepping in to help and trying to cure patients in the waiting room, Kate knows she must hire a temporary receptionist until Mona returns. This is where the fun and danger begins.
Be careful you may find yourself laughing out loud.

Charlotte Hughes is the best pool-side read ever. I love Kate Holly!
The best of the three by far, I hope there is a fourth and then some. I can't get enough of this series.
Funny installment in the Kate Holly series. I am a psychotherapist, so I just love this series - Kate is my idol ;-)
This is Ms. Hughes new book, and it as good and funny as the rest, maybe even better. This author has no end to talented writing. Kate & her family & friends are at time quite a hoot & her life is never ending in suspense and laughs. Great time spent reading this one.
It took me awhile to get into it, then about half way through I couldn't put it down. Light, quick and humorous read. Looking forward to book 4 in the series.
High Anxiety-A Kate Holly Case (Charlotte Hughes)
Kate Holly Is a psychologist, with problems of her own. She has an ex boyfriend who still wants to get back with her, and ex husband whom she loves, but can not be with due to his career choice. She has her junk collecting mother and her twin (equally eccentric Aunt), trying to get her to join their business. Yet still, Kate comes to work every day (as a therapist) to help people.
When her secretary falls ill, she must find a temporary replacement. She finds Abigail who Kate thinks would work out perfect. Until she starts to notice strange things about her. She can deal with it until Abigail show up looking just like Kate. Soon things begin to take a turn. Her files turn up missing and Abigail is acting more bizarre each day. When Kate decides to let her go, employee turns stalker and Hollys' life is in danger.
I do enjoy the Kate Holly Stories. They are a fun light read.

Another fun read by Charlotte Hughes! Kate Holly is always getting in trouble. Charlotte brings a lot of laughter to her books with bizarre characters and throws a little romance into the mix. If you want a fast but lively read pick up one of her books.
I got the first book in a box of books and it was great, so i went online here and ordered book 2 & 3, all 3 books were really good.
