A great modern-day heroine for this series!!
I love the Anna Pigeon series and any book by Nevada Barr. If you like strong,independent,heroic female characters who can kick but, you will love this book about a National Park ranger in Yosemite.
Anna pegion mystery series...Tough as boots park ranger...love her books

Have tried to read this author but don't care for the style of writing which is mostly just pages of descriptions, didn't care for the character either.
Good suspense and ending.
I felt this book gave many unnecessary details so I skipped over some parts of it.
Always love the Anna Pigeon books. Reading this one makes me want to go see Yosemite! A little darker than some of hers, but a good read.

Well written and plenty of suspsense right up 'til the end.
Nevada Barr is entertaining. Her stories are sometimes a little over the top of believeability. As someone who lives at the entrance to and spends a great deal of time in one of the National Parks that she hasn't written about, I,m waiting for that book to be written. I've read about 10 of her books, which should say sometime about my reaction to her writings.

This one turns into a real cliff-hanger, once it gets going!
Excellent writing as always by Nevada Barr, but more consistently violent than the earlier books in this series. Anna goes under cover in Yosemite after four young park employees disappear. I generally don't like descriptive writing, but Barr does a masterful job of giving us the feel for the natural features of the national park with a light hand.
