this cover is a pale pinkish brown not purple like the picture the ISBN matches.
This third in the Mitford series (At Home in Mitford)is another sympathetic portrayal of small-town Southern life with just enough drama to carry the plot and gracefully developed portraits of endearing characters.

The third in the Mitford Series this installment centers on the the changes Father Tim and Cynthia have to make as a married couple. While I eventually began to tire of the Mitford Series, this was one of my favorites.

Jan Karon writes with a friendly style and the small town of Mitford becomes a magical reality (reflective of the musical Brigadoon) as the pages are turned. I enjoyed the read and the writing. Lois Johnson

I really enjoyed this series. I had a hard time getting into the first novel, but then I was hooked. It was a very different read for me, but lots of fun.

This book was a gift for my sister who loved it. She is a Mitford fan and is currently running through the series in chronological order. She loves them all! I read the first three novels in the series and enjoyed them very much too. That's why I felt comfortable rating this one 5 stars. All the stories are sweet, gentle, fun, entertaining and populated with interesting and endearing characters. There is always just a hint of trouble or spice in the community of Mitford which keeps the stories realistic and entertaining. I highly recommend the entire series for a little escape. Whenever I had a stressful day, I'd grab my reading glasses and tell my husband, "I'm going to MItford!"

Beautiful copy!

I think that this was a little different than the previous books. It tended to drag in places and run long in others but the characters are extremely likeable and I did go on to read the next one.

This is the third book in The Mitford Series. In These High Green Hills we find Dooley going off to an expensive boarding school and believe it or not Father Tim takes the big plunge. If you've loved the first two Mitford books, you'll love this one too.
