Another captivating story from Hannah Howell. The mystery keeps you reading late into the night. The passionate scenes are eloquently written.

From the back cover....

Sir Tormand Murray is certainly a rogue, but a callous killer? Never. Yet he cannot explain how he came to wake up next to the butchered body if one of his former lovers. Someone is prepared to kill again and again until Tormand is found guilty and hanged. And his only hope of discovering the culprit lies with Morainn Ross, a reclusive, sensual beauty with second sight.

Branded a witch, Moriann never met a man who accepted her strange talent, much less one who could so easily enflame her passion. There's no resisting Tormand's rugged masculinity-and no escaping the enemy who grows more twisted every day. And even as logic decrees that a lasting union is impossible, Morainn knows her destiny is bound foreverwith the knight who has claimed her, body and soul.

I am a fan of Hannah Howell's and have read all of her Murray Family Scottish romances. This one was far different than the rest. I thought the story very good but at one point found myself thinking WHAT ARE THEY DOING? At that point in the book I would have rated the book only 3 stars and was a bit disappointed. I kept reading a long and the story turned again for me. The last quarter of the book was sooo good that I raised my star rating to 4 in a half. I just loved the way Hannah ended this book and wished all books could end as well.

FROM THE BACK COVER: Sir Tormand Murray is certainly a rogue, but a callous killer? Never. Yet he cannot explain how he came to wake up next to the butchered body of one of his former lovers. NOTE: new book, not a reprint.

I found this one better than the last two new books (twin brothers). And yes it's about a serial killer/stalker but while somewhat desriptive, not as gory as some mysterys out there. The heroine is likable & a standard Howell type; the hero also reminds me of Payton Murray from the earlier books. For those not familiar with the series, that means he'll have sex with just about any passable female--but at the timeframe of this book he's been celibate for a few months. Someone is killing his former lovers and trying to get him hanged. Secondary characters also good and the story moves along. Not Ms Howell's best, but a good easy read.

I have been trying to read through all the Murray family stories and I really liked this one. It is so nice to pick up a book and begin to read and see some of the characters reappear.

I really enjoyed this story. I have read over 20 of her Highland books and this love story makes my top five. I had to read "wee" into the night because I could not put it down. Love how we get to see characters reappear from other related family stories. It's cool how the big family clans always come to aid support the character or sibling who is in trouble.
