I came across Mayhue on Amazon while searching for new authors I might enjoy. When more than one review compared her with Karen Marie Moning, I had to read her books.

Like KMM's Highlander series, Mayhue's stories revolve around hunky Scotsmen, spunky heroines, powerful and often irresponsible Fae (faerie or fairy...so not Tinkerbell), and a happily ever after (HEA). Who could pass that up? Not me!

The series is called the Daughters of the Glen.

Mayhue did a wonderful job weaving incredible but energetic plots with characters who have depth. The heroes (hot, intelligent, and overprotective) and the heroines (smart, witty, and a touch quirky) in this series often reminded me of Moning's. If the Fae legend wasn't so very different from Moning this could easily be considered a spin off of her Highlander series. Moning followers will enjoy this series. Romance and magic beautifully combine to entice the reader in this series. And while each book is a strong stand-alone romance, there is enough back story in each book for the reader to follow, the reading experience is richer when read in order.

Melissa Mayhue has become one of my must buy authors.

I enjoyed the book, but the fact that Ellie and Caden kept putting up road blocks to stall their romance drove me nuts.
The book was really good, but I feel most people recognise true love when it constantly beats them over the head. Especially when the hero is hot enough to melt kryptonite. WOWZER!

Ellie is determined to get back to her own time. Caden's mother Rosalyn tries to tell Ellie that she won't be able to return until she has done what she has been sent to do. What did Ellie say when the fae magic ignited into her trip to the past? Find her true love is the answer. Ellie and Caden spark when they are together. Caden is determined Ellie will marry another, and Ellie is unsure whether to seek out her true love or focus on returning home to Texas.

Sparks fly with Caden and Ellie that is pure magic. Ellie's special fae ability of communicating with animals is charming and brings more warmth to the story. The Scotland background and highland speak add realism to this sparkling gem. I look forward to the next installment!

The Daughters of the Glen books just keep getting better and better. The characters are so likable and honest. Loved the story of Caden and Ellie. Sheep farmers from past and present who find themselves on a journey that humbles them in the end, finding the one true love.
