I love historical romance, especially Highland-set historical romance.
I started to dislike this book around page 45. In fact, around page 30 I thought about putting it down. Instead I forced myself to read it.
What didn't I like? First, there is no reason that the hero and heroine like each other. They literally see each other and there is no rhyme or reason for the attraction; well, except there needed to be a plot. Also, the hero is inconsistent - one minute he's distrusting of her, the very next, literally, she is the center of his world. But nothing has changed, except the page number. Third, she keeps a secret for a stupidly long time, long past any reasonable woman would. It's not that big a secret, and it's fairly clear the hero would help her. The ending is also similarly not believable, convenient, and . . . what's the word I'm looking for. . . insulting to our intelligence as readers.
Please, save yourself a few hours of time and avoid this book.

I enjoyed reading this book. Sophie hides her true identity from her hero Tavish Graham and his brother James, the Earl of Monleigh. Reluctantly, Sophie begins to fall in love with the rugged Highlander, but before she can reveal who she is, James discovers her royal connection and can't help but wonder what else she is keeping from him.
