Here is how I rated this trilogy:
"Highlander Unbound" (Book 1) 3*
- Two reasons: One, I didn't like Ellie's constant betrayal of Liam. Especially after having Liams declaration and words of love that he would do *anything* for her. Ellie just didn't have the depth of character that Mared and Anna did in books 2 & 3.
- And two, while I enjoyed Liam in general, I thought he came across as a little to muchâthe bigger they are the harder (or dumber) they fallâ type guy especially when he continued to let Ellie dupe him.
"Highlander In Disguise" (Book 2) 5* Grif and Anna's story had just the right amount of everything! My favorite of the 3 books! =)
"Highlander In Love" (Book 3) 4 1/2* Payton and Mared's story was very well done also. And while it was predictable, I was still in there rooting for them and teary eyed in places.
All in all a very enjoyable trio! And of course the covers are yummy! =)

Scottish romance circa 1815 - Mared Lockhart & Payton Douglas have known each other their whole lives. He's always loved her, she's always hated him, but he's determined to change her mind.
I liked this book - I've read better, but it will fill those extra pockets of space where you just can not find another really great book.
this book series was so awsome!
Much better than the first two in the series. I believe this one will stand alone so one can enjoy reading it without having to suffer through the first two.
Book 3 in a series...Mered's story...great ending to the series...I want Payton
some parts were very long but overall a good read
Good...fast paced.
From the publisher:
The Lockhart brother's quest for an ancient family heirloom has proved fruitless...and an unpaid loan has left them indebted to their rival, Payton Douglas. With no recourse, the Lockharts offer Payton their most vlauable commodity: their sister Mared's hand in marriage.

Great read!
Funny enjoyable Good reading Scottish romance
Third and final in the Lockhart family trilogy. This is my absolute favorite of the three. Mared's story. Excellent!!

Eh .. I got a little annoyed with the heroine and her stubborness, but still a good read.
As far as I'm concerned, this was the best book in the series!!! It started just a little slow, but then picked up, and I was not able to put it down. It made you laugh and cry. I did love it.
great story. romance and love and feel good story.
The last book in this enjoyable trilogy.
This was by far my favorite book in the series. I actually felt like the characters came to live and reacted realistically to each other. I knew the romance between these two was coming from book 1 and it was fun to see how it all finally played out.
I actually liked how the quest for the beastie took a backseat in the story. This book was more character driven than the others and I think that's why I like it the most.
And the tension, my goodness, the tension. That's all that needs to be said. I think I'll go take a cold shower now.

Two warring Scottish families try unite through marriage only the daughter has other plans. Good story and romance.
I loved it, I read all three in the series, and I have begun hunting to see if there are anymore.
Wish I could meet a true Highlander if they were like the characters in this Trilogy.
The Lockhart brothers' quest for an ancient family heirloom has proved fruitless...and an unpaid loan has left them indebted to their rival, Payton Douglas. With no recourse, the Lockharts offer Payton their most valuable commodity: their sister Mared's hand in marriage.
Raised to despise the Douglas name, Mared outwardly agrees to the marital bargain for the sake of her family; secretly, she concocts a plan to ensure Payton will not wish to marry her. Seeing the handsome, virile laird Payton face-to-face, however, threatens a centuries-long enmity -- and awakens Mared's deepest desires. But she will not be swayed. Choosing to repay her family's debt by working as his housekeeper instead of wedding him, she finds herself inexorably drawn to the man she vowed to resist. Then a profound discovery changes everything ... Now, no longer bound by a promise to her family, Mared must let her heart decide if the laird Payton is the enemy of past legend -- or if he holds the key to a future filled with a passion beyond her wildest dreams.

I really enjoyed reading the last book of the Lockhart trilogy. The story line through all three stories are kept my interest and made me want to continue reading until the end of their story. Highly recommend it!
