I have read, and enjoyed, other books in this series. I didn't enjoy this one because Sunny didn't do anything to keep her cat safe when he was in a potentially dangerous situation.
A pet owner has a responsibility to take proper care of their pets and keep them safe. I don't like seeing neglect of an animal in real life. And I don't like seeing it in a book. It's not entertaining. In real life I can try to help the animals. In books, what I can do is not read any more of the author's books.

This book was disappointing. I enjoyed the other books in the series but this one was set in a different place with Sunny staying away from home. As a cat lover, I couldn't stand to read how Sunny was not trying to protect Shadow. That part really bothered me. I rushed through the end just to find out who did it and be done with it.
