This Forum is for Historical Romance Buddies, to provide a way to send links to each other about books that have just been announced.  Hopefully, this format will be more user-friendly format than a PM--so it will be easier to add them to your Wish List.

Coming in February, 2011...

Notorious Pleasures (Maiden Lane) :: Elizabeth Hoyt
ISBN-13: 9780446558952 - ISBN-10: 0446558958

Enjoy!

I always see "historical romance" and think Oooh.. but then it turns out there are no cowboys. :P Hopefully this thread will not be limited to the non-cowboy historicals. ;)

No way, Allie!

This thread is for ALL types of historical romance.   Like you, I enjoy American historical novels (especially with yummy cowboys!).  Be sure to let us know if you hear of some new ones to add to our Wish Lists--and I promise to do the same.

I assume you have these on your list already?

I like the idea of the forum, thanks for setting it up, Laura!

No new books to announce, but I just wanted to mention that I am halfway through The Brazen Bride by Stephanie Laurens, and it is the best of the Bride series so far.  I "liked" but did not love the first two. This one is well worth putting on your wish list..

That's really good to hear about Laurern's "Brazen Bride".  Think I'll be able to crack it open tonight.  I too thought the first two were ok-hope this one is better.

Glad it isn't just me then.  I have started and stopped the first Bride book.  Just couldn't get into it.  Will skim it to get the gist and then can begin with a clear conscience.

Great idea, Laura.  Thanks for taking the time to figure this system out and keep the rest of us updated!  I am so technically backward, I amaze even myself sometimes!

Just got back from a 6 day vacaiton to see my kids in MI and discovered I even screwed up my vacation settings.  Geez!  Color me red (in the face).  Good thing the book request I got was only requested yesterday!

Notice of the second book by this new historical Western romance author...

Restless Heart     Author: Emma Lang
ISBN-13: 9780758247520 - ISBN-10: 0758247524

P.S. For new Forum users, here are some useful tips on POSTING a book's link
      a. Highlight and "Copy" the book's name, author and ISBN number from the PBS listing (from your Wish List, search, etc--not from Amazon or other site)
      b. "Paste" all of the above into the body of your reply
      c. Highlight the book's information again and click on the "eraser" at the top left of the reply box to remove the previous formatting

That's it--very easy.

Enjoy!

Go to SETTINGS

Scroll down to FORUM SETTINGS

Click on BROWSE to look at images you've saved on your computer--note the size limitations are pretty small

SUBMIT and the images will appear in the order you've entered them

Need a source for fun images?  I got most of mine from Photobucket.com. It's easy to set up a free account and browse for varous types of images.  (I searched "Male Models.")  If the image you select is too large, you can edit right then or save it to your computer and re-size it later.

SIGNATURE: Type in your preferred name below the photos and click UPDATE FORUM SETTINGS.  That name will automatically show up each time without having to be re-entered.

Simple, huh!?!

Oops, my bad!  The previous instructions were incorrect; you CANNOT post from a book's individual listing.  You can only post it (linkable) from a LIST such as:

> Wish List

> Reminder List

> TBR Pile

> Books I've Read

Try this method...

1. Highlight the ISBN, Author's Name and Book Title
2. COPY
3. PASTE into the body of your message--I think it's easier to post under my text, but it will work either way
[A "Text Box" will appear around the Name/Author/ISBN]
4. HIGHLIGHT the ISBN, Name and Title once again
5. With the Name/Author/ISBN still highlighted, click the blue ERASER found among the editing tools below the Subject Line
   [The "text box" should disappear.]
6. Finish your message and hit SUBMIT

Cali, why don't you try to "edit" your previous message?

EDITING a previous post

Note: You can only edit or delete your own post.
1. Click EDIT POST
2. Make the desired changes
3. Click SUBMIT when finished.

Just an fyi-the Emerson is a historical fiction.  Read the first in the series, the other is on my mountainous TBR shelves; looking forward to this one.

I noticed while browsing on Amazon that Carla Kelly has a new release coming out on January 1, 2011, "The Admiral's Penniless Bride", but I can't find the ISBN here. I assume this is a continuation of her series involving heroes in the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars.  I sure wish her older books would be reissued, they cost a fortune used!

Check out half.com  Jerseygirl.  They have a few of her older ones that are reasonable. (I linked to her page)
