It's great to read a book about poverty and injustice that gives a call for action instead of a reason to feel guilty. The statistics are absolutely staggering. We must respond to God's call to take care of the poor, the orphan and the widow.

This book challenges Christians to take the Bible seriously when it tells us to care for the needy. The story of Mr. Stearns' journey from corporate America to president of World Vision is extremely compelling and genuine. The hole in our gospel is that we have generally neglected caring for the very poor. Stearns points out that this is not a side issue for God--it is central to our faith. Read and be challenged.

Excellent book, though a bit longer than it needs to be. The first three sections could be condensed into just one chapter. The fourth section of the book, 'A Hole in the Church', contains the real message. It's a call to change the way we think about what it means to be Christian and how we really can change the world.

Very inspiring. Makes me want to go work for a non-profit and escape the rat race. After all, at the end the rat race, you're still a rat.

This is an amazing book that really makes you think about the way you live your "Christian" life. It really made me step back and assess what I was doing and see how many "holes" I had in "my gospel."
