The Holy Man
Author: Susan Trott
Buddhism and insomnia led novelist Susan Trott to invent an alternative to counting sheep: she counted a line of people waiting to see a holy man. The mental game, unresolved each night as sleep arrived inspired this book: The Holy Man.

Beautiful story of searching for a life with meaning. A book that you can be read over and over, and still find something new each time. Each chapter tells the story of a different person who is waiting in a long line to meet with a "Holy Man" - and each person illustrates a different characteristic or aspect of human nature. Easy to read in multiple sittings.

I saw myself and at that moment did not know if I wanted to laugh or cry. A delightful, insightful book that explores human nature and our yearnings to be a better person or find that guru who will unlock our higher self. Deceivingly simple, it can be read on many levels. I enjoyed it thoroughly and have recommended it often to friends.

One of the most insightful, wisdom-filled books I've read! Read it in one sitting... well worth it! A nutritious, enriching, wholesome snack for the soul :) Looking forward to the next time I read it... it's staying on my short book shelf!
