A nice cookbook set up in an informal style. Very enjoyable to sit down and read with a cup of tea. All sorts of recipes, many that the author had sampled then went home and tried to copy in her kitchen. I liked the chapter about breads. Recommend, good recipes and a good read.

More Home Cooking is Laurie Colwin's second collection of columns from Gourmet magazine. The book was published posthumously, after Colwin's untimely death, and includes the text of a few speeches as well. Because it lacked her unerring editorial hand, More Home Cooking is significantly less polished than its predecessor. Nevertheless, it is well worth a read, and for fans of Colwin's fiction, it will be a welcome addition to her collected works.
