Definitely a long story, starting back in 1959, or earlier. A long book, 500 + pages, but they are all needed to tell this story of death, love and family. It takes a while to get the whole story set up, and doesn't really start to wrap it up until the last 100 or so. But all in all a good read, worth the time for certain!
It is a very long book. It is told by many different voices.

I read one review that said Kate Morton's books 'create an atmosphere'...well yes, but not a good one. Just a bunch of gobbledygook. I knew the infants were switched the minute they appeared in the book and the rest was just all a big jigsaw puzzle of characters and atmosphere. Not a bit interesting, nor did any of it move me (emotionally). Tedious.
