The recipes are good, HOWEVER, they are going to take you A LOT of time to make these things. They might be yummy, they're surely healthier than their store bought equivelent, but working people are probably not going to have the spare time to invest in making these items.
Additionally, there's no "cost comparison" to let you know if you're saving anything at all, over grocery store prices.
Some recipes include granola, ricotta cheese, lentil soup, macaroni & cheese, chicken nuggets, and toaster pastries.

I ordered my own copy before I even finished reading the copy I borrowed from the library.
Although it's not as extensive as Make the Bread, Buy the Butter: What You Should and Shouldn't Cook from Scratch -- Over 120 Recipes for the Best Homemade Foods, nor as hilarious (although the subtitles and back stories are amusing), Chernila is much more laid back in her approach to making things from scratch.
I plan to make many of her recipes, including ketchup, hamburger buns, chai, crackers and pancake mix.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I realized that many of the changes I have already been making in my kitchen were a precursor to stepping up and quitting a most processed food. It includes many easy to follow recipes, and the hows and why's of doing it yourself.
