This is the first book I've read by Kim Vogel Sawyer. I completely loved this book! The very idea of the Wyatt Herdsman School to teach women from the East to rope, ride, milk cows, brand calves, and be prepared to be ranchers' wives...is ingenious! The characters were perfect! Mrs. Wyatt is the perfect surrogate mother to these six girls. Tressa is a sweet but slightly bumbling orphan girl who's aunt and uncle sent her West. Abel is a hard working quiet man who doesn't trust Eastern women. Lovely story! I can't wait to read more books by Ms. Sawyer.
This was so good! I enjoyed Tressa's adventures as she learned the ins and outs of ranch living. She arrived at the Wyatt Herdsman School a sad, timid girl and graduated as a confident young woman with the needed skills to survive ranch life! I would highly recommend "A Hopeful Heart."
This was a fun read from the moment I started it. I was anxious to see how the story would play out for Tressa. I would have loved to read more about Tressa and Abel. I hope their is a sequel.
