This is book #2 in the series. It has been so long since I read the first book, I had forgotten most of its plot and characters. As such, I didn't take much notice of the author's name when I stated book #2. After going through it in a little over a day, I finished it and thought, "Wow! That was good!" I then looked at the cover again, saw the author's name, and realized why it was so good. P.C. Doherty writes excellent historical mysteries.
