If you are expecting Phillips' typical hilarious dialogue you will be disappointed. Once you get past that, the story is great. I couldn't put it down.

A story about early personal computer development. Good characters, and interesting plot twists.

...not so much a goodie. This one one of SEP's earlier works and I did not enjoy this as much as I enjoy her Stars series. There was too much going on and one simply liked, then detested, then liked again the characters...it was too emotional for me...

Read it a long time ago, but remember the well written story of a MicroSoft style start up with loveable, quirky characters.

Set in Silicone Valley in the 70's, all of SEP's character development and dark backgrounds come together for true love in the idealistic generation of hackers trying to be first with a viable PC.

An amazing look at the dawn of the computer industry with a little romance thrown in to add some heat. While fictional, it provides an enthralling snapshot of the atmosphere surrounding those garage techies of the west coast who birthed giants such as Apple Computer. Realistic romance (it's certainly not all hearts and flowers) in the midst of the realization of commercial success for four renegades who start with nothing and end with perhaps not all of their hearts' desires but a close facsimile. I highly recommend this fantastic read from Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

Not your typical SEP book but a good read. I thought it got better as the story progressed.
Great book! Read it in two evenings!
Book was good and entertaining, will read more from this author.
Not what I expected. I think this book was kind of dragging. I love her other books thought
I was disappointed in this book. The female character put up with a lot of abuse, mostly verbal and emotional, from the boyfriend and then husband that is touted to have rescued her from a sad life. Although she does throw him off, it is after a period of many years. On the plus side, the book was interesting to me as it was about a local place (Silicon Valley) and the emergence of the personal computer.
yet again, another good read by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Incredibly involving story. The characters are well drawn, and though is isn't a "fluffy" romance, it is quite compelling. Also a very interesting characterization of the early days of Silicon Valley.
A book were the rich lady ends up living like the rest of us. She triumphs in the end.
Much different than Phillip's other books. Not what I expected. I did enjoy the character development and the historical aspect relating to Silicon Valley. It was long and more serious than her other books but still a good read.
The story of a woman with the courage to take on the world of men. And was there ever a heroine more ill-equipped to do that than proper, well-bred Susannah Faulconer?
Bad Boys and Hot Nerds - Whatelse can I say?
This is the right ISBN, but different cover.
