Although this book still deals with Brockmann's Navy SEALs, it is a refreshing tangent to go on. Most of her books deal with international intrigue and terrorism so this plot about a SEAL becoming a temporary bodyguard is a good change. Another highlight of this fiction is the relationship between Jules Cassidy, his ex, Adam, and Robin Chadwick. Although some people dislike homosexuality mixed in a heterosexual romance book, I thought it was a breath of fresh air. Most romance books are lacking in focus on more than one relationship, not to mention a homosexual one.

Not only did Cosmo/Jane pairing grab my attention but I also found myself looking forward to hear more from Jules side of the story

Cosmo and Jules are charged with safeguarding hot Hollywood producer Jane Chadwick, who has come under fire (literally) for making a movie dealing with two gay war heroes. A few contrived plot twists find Cosmo and Jane initially butting heads, then coming together as friends and finally burning up the sheets as lovers. More compelling is Jules's struggle to stay away from his egocentric ex, an actor who conveniently lands a starring role in Jane's film, and from Jane's brother Robin, who's so deep in the closet that he has turned to drink.

Another great SEAL/Trouble Shooters series book by Brockmann. I find that once I pick one up I have to read almost straight through. Who needs to work anyway?

Chief Cosmo Richter is on leave from the SEAL team to take care of his mother after she has an accident. Not being one to enjoy idle time, he takes on a cake job for Troubleshooters. Movie producer Jane Mercedes Chadwick has received a death threat and her production company has taken it seriously and hired security for her.

Cosmo is large, scary and has reportly weird colored (light/blue gray) eyes. He is very reserved and a man of very few words. Jane is a driven talkative movie producers who adobts a partygirl image to further her career.

As in most Brockmann novels there are three stories at one. The past story of war vetern Hal and Jack, the potential triangle of Jules Cassidy, his ex lover Adam and the very conflicted brother of Jane, Robin. Robin is referred to as so in the closet, even he doesnt know he is gay.

I enjoyed this quick moving story but it is not one of my favorites. I did not get into the Hal/Jack story at all and I was not really impressed with the Cosmo and Jane story either. They just kind of met up and went to bed, had a misunderstanding type relationship with lots of danger through into the mix. The Robin/Jules/Adam was interesting but not really a love relationship either. Dont get me wrong this was still a great book. I love Brockmann and will read everything she ever writes.

A very good book with interesting characters and a well developed plot. It is a fast-paced, sensous and provocative novel. The author does a very good job exploring stereotypes, fears and ignorances especially between lovers - both homosexual and hetrosexual.

I really love this series. Cosmo's story did not disappoint me at all. If you like Suzanne Brockmann I would also recommend Tara Janzen's Cool books and Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard series.

First time I've read Suzanne Brockman. She writes a good mystery about the tough ex-navy SEAL who is hired to protect the movie producer who is pursing a project about homosexuality that the public isn't fond of. I'd read her again.

Great book that addresses some of society's issues with homosexuality. Rare to find a crime book that does that.

Navy SEAL Cosmo Richter offers his services to a private security firm while on leave. His job is protection of Jane Mercedes Chadwick, maverick movie producer. She is receiving death threats. She doesn't take the threats seriously, not at first anyway. Then it becomes apparent that the threats are real and whe turns to
Cosmo for protection...and much more.

Unwillingly facing a month's leave from the Navy SEALSs, Cosmo Richter offers his services to Trouble shooters Incorporated, a private-sector security firm. His first case surrounds a Hollywood film by the maverick movie producer Jane Mercedes Chadwick. Jane's portrayal of a real-life hero's homosexuality has roused a storm of media blitz and the fury of extremist groups. When all hell erupts, desire and desperate choices will collide on a killing round that may trap both Jane and Cosmo in the crossfire.

Follows the exploits of sexy, silent Cosmo Richter, the man of mystery from Brockmann's earlier romances (Gone Too Far, etc.), Cosmo must share the limelight with Jules Cassidy, a gay FBI agent and also a recurring character in Brockmann's books. Both Cosmo and Jules are charged with safeguarding hot Hollywood producer Jane Chadwick, who has come under fire (literally) for making a movie dealing with two gay war heroes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio. The readers brought so much humor into this story. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much if I would have just read the book. Several times I caught myself laughing out loud at some of the dialogue between characters.
It is a story about a Navy SEAL who is assigned to bodyguard a very showy, flirty and beautiful movie producer. She is the target of a killer who wants to stop her from producing a war movie/homosexual romance. I would recommend this audio to anyone. I can't wait to find more of Brockmann's work.

Suzanne Brockmann does it again. She is a master. When Navy SEAL Cosmo Richter offers his services to Troubleshooters, Inc., a private-sector security firm, Richter's first case involves protecting a Hollywood movie producer. Though Jane resists Cosmo's protection, she hasn't counted on the tight bond they will form.

Love the whole series but this one was totally captivating. I was surprised about how much I enjoyed the Jules romance. Wow! What a great story teller!

For those who like Suzanne Brockman's Navey SEALs series, this is a bit different. One of the subplots is regarding Jules, the gay FBI agent, and his love interest.

So, if reading about gay love (nothing explicit) bothers you, maybe Hot Target isn't for you.

Otherwise, a good read!

A part of the series, this one is about Cosmo Richter and his brush with danger and love--in Hollywood no less. A goodie

Navy SEAL Chief Cosmo Richter is dedicated to his job. He hates being out of the action for even a brief time. Needless-to-say, he does not take a vacation unless forced to do so. When circumstances force him to take a month of leave time, he offers his services to Troubleshooters Incorporated. ("T.I." was founded by a former SEAL and carries out covert missions dealing with terrorism.) T.I. sends Cosmo to protect Jane Mercedes Chadwick.

Jane is a movie producer. Her current film is set in World War II and portrays the homosexuality of a real-life hero. Of course, extremist groups are sending her angry emails, phone calls, and more. Jane ignores them all. But when the death threats begin, some Hollywood associates call in T.I.

FBI agent Jules Cassidy is already on the scene. Jane becomes surrounded by body guards ... and she is NOT happy about it. Jules is gay. He is having trouble with an ex-lover, Adam, (who happens to be in Jane's movie) and has a growing attraction to Robin (Jane's brother who is not yet "out of the closet" and drinks too much).

This has mystery, murder, love, sex, and a great story involving the FBI and a film producer who has troubles during a picture shooting session and the firm of security services, in particular, one man, who helps her solve an old mystery. I liked it.

Looking for something to occupy his time while on leave from the Navy SEALs, Cosmo Richter takes a job with Troubleshooters, Inc. They have been hired by a Hollywood Studio to protect movie producer Jane Mercedes Chadwick. She has received death threats from extremist groups who object to a real-life World War II hero being portrayed as gay. As Cosmo and the other Troubleshooters, as well as FBI Agent Jules Cassidy, try to find who is behind the threats, their investigation turns deadly.

Suzanne Brockmann is certainly on a roll with this series. It's been one 5-Star book after another for me. This one is no exception. I liked how Jane and Cosmo went from not liking each other, to friends, and eventually to lovers. Cosmos' back story was very interesting. I thought he and Jane were a good match. But my favorite storyline in this book was Jules Cassidy dealing with his ex-lover, Adam. It's taken a couple of years for Jules to get over him. Now Adam has won a role in Jane's movie. It seems like everywhere Jules turns, he runs into Adam. To make matters worse, Jules is attracted to Jane's brother, actor Robin Chadwick. But Robin is in denial about his sexuality. This Jules-Adam-Robin triangle kept me glued to the book. My rating: 5 Stars.
