Lovely book. Anita Brookner writes very quiet, understated books, but her characters are sharply drawn and the writing is exceptional.
A book which can be read with pleasure a hundred or so years from now
Another excellent book with twist and turns and many interesting characters and I mean CHARACTERS. Set in Switzerland and London with outcast set adrift!! Don't miss this light read, take it with you on vacation. Small compact paperback.
