National Book Award Finalist. Generations of family in Puerto Rico. Very Gabriel Garcia-Marquez like. I loved it.
I agree with another reviewer, this reminded me of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also a little bit of Isabel Allende. There is a lot of historical detail of the families, it got to be a little much for me. While I enjoyed the book, I'm a little surprised that it's an award winner.
