I was hesitant when this started out. The protagonist is just abhorrent in the beginning and while the narration was good, I wasn't sure it was a style for me. It pulled me in and I wanted to know where it was going, just how far this character would take things and how much she could get away with. I wanted to know what had happened to possibly justify her actions. I questioned the mental stability of all the characters. However, despite all my hesitations and questioning along the way this was a surprisingly good book! Twists and turns and surprises (including coming to root for the protagonist). I loved the ending! This is my 2nd book by Barelli (the first being MISSING MOLLY which I enjoyed). I will seek out more from this author.
