Crochenit origins with Mary Middleton .... Growing up in Argentina, I learned to crochet and was especialy fond of Tunisian crochet. In 1970, I say my first double ended crochet hook. I started a class for making a baby afghan, but a woman said that it was not for her to learn one stitch. I started expermenting and traveling with my stitching. My husband designed a 14" version of the hook and I decided to start a business of my own. I decided to design several pattern books. In the 70's, it was a small business but I did get to Brazil to teach the class there in 1980. In 2000, I was pleased to begin making arrangements with The Needlecraft shope to manufacture and distribute the hook and new pattern books. The techinque is fun and easy to learn for all ages.
