EXCELLENT! A never fail great read when Elizabeth Boyle writes. The story line is fantastic. The insight gained from the flashback is wonderful. The characters are hilarious. I couldn't put it down.
Boyle also brings in characters from past book (although it truly can stand alone) which is always an enjoyment.
This is a definate recommendation.

Most enjoyable read. Lucy and Clifton become star-crossed lovers with enough humor and twists and turns to keep you interested to the end.
2-1/2 stars.
Unconvinced. I didn't buy him being in love with her. I could see why she fell in love with him, I really didn't get what he saw in her. I WANTED to like them as a couple, I just didn't feel the magic. I didn't believe the romance, didn't believe them pining for each other for years. The twist at the end - it was absolutely a surprise but I'm not sure it added anything to the story. I would say, in fact, it took away from the story. I thought the love scenes were not good at all, particularly the one where he's drunk. How is that romantic? I just didn't fall in love with the characters or the romance in this book. It was a real disappointment.
I was also irritated by their nicknames. His, Gilby, was never explained. I couldn't figure out why they called him that. Hers, Goosie, I can figure out why she's called that, but ick, what a horrible nickname. Sexy and romantic or even cute it is not. These are their love names for each other? Yuck.
I can't say don't read this, but I think there are better books out there. I am not sure it is a must read in the Bachelor Chronicles. It is better than Scandalous Red Dress. And better than Temple's story. So I suppose it isn't that bad.
I loved two of Boyle's book and liked one of them and I do like Elizabeth Boyle's style. I will read the next, mostly because I already have it, but I might be done with this series.
