After listening to an interview with the author I expected Judy Blume goodness from this book. Sadly, I was disappointed. At chapter 5, I still wasn't into the book, but continued to read hoping that it would get better. The book is just another interpretation of the teen movies that the book's main character criticizes. I'm sure there are many others who will enjoy the fluffiness of this book, but it just wasn't for me.

This was a really good book, as a working mom it reflected the feelings (mostly guilt) that come along with trying to both. There were parts that were a little slow but for the most part kept me engaged.

I enjoyed this book. It's not "blow your socks off" but it was a good read. The premise is a bit over the top but if you look past that to a girl coming of age with very overprotective parents and how she copes and figures things out for herself, it's not a bad story.
