How Sassy Changed My Life is a well-researched and fun biography of Sassy magazine. Through interviews with former staffers, celebrities and readers, it chronicles the rise and ultimate downfall of the magazine. Though Sassy certainly revamped how the media caters to young women, the authors show that ultimately the magazine's legacy is that it was a positive force in the lives of teenagers anxious to connect and feel accepted in the days before the internet.
This book is a fun walk down memory lane..... I wish I had kept that R.E.M. flexi disc.
