I would have to say I was not as thrilled as I thought I would be. I has hoping for much more than it had to offer. I would say to borrow this book from the library if you can or from a friend before you spend you credits or money on this book.

This book is not a reference book that you might keep and pull out when you are in need of info. you can always google those thing in a pinch. The author had the help of many grandmothers born before the great depression, because the author lives in NY and realized she didnt have these skills. The book is humorous and a joy to read and well as informative.
You will learn a few new things, I did. And get a chuckle.

I thought this would be good. I read her other book about grandfathers, and liked that one. Didn't like it nearly as much as I thought, and honestly, felt like I wasted my money on it.

A great little book full of practical advice and warm good humor. Not an in-depth how to just great hints and tips I wish I could still call my Gramma for. Sew a button, roast a chicken, hem some pants etc. I enjoyed it very much.

Disappointing, not what I expected.
