This book would probably interest you if you are an extremely competitive mother who is determined to teach your child to read before they're one. The book says children need LARGE (2 inches or more) letters in a grabbing color, like red, so they can see them and learn to read. (Most print is much too small and is blurry, hence the reason they don't read sooner. They can't see it.) But the author wants you to hand make 200+ jumbo word cards like the one the lady on the cover is holding, go through several of them during your "sessions" and rotate them out EVERY DAY, MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY! It's unrealistic. I would recommend the book Einstein Never Used Flashcards to anyone who fears their child is going to be dumb, disadvantaged, left behind or made fun of in school. The power of play and socializing is real. This book and it's repetitive, every-single-day technique may make a child hate reading and learning before they ever even get to school.

This is the first book in a series called the Gentle Revolution. It teaches parents how to teach your newborns, infants, young kids, toddlers, etc, not only how to read but more importantly how to learn. It is unfortunate that this is not required reading before the procreative act is performed. That way parents would be more than ready to provide for their child(ren) that which has been thought impossible for so very long.
