Like a Wolf With a Bone-
I enjoyed Eggie and Darla. Several laugh-out loud moments. Glad I still have the rest of this series to savor and enjoy!

Wed or Dead-
I liked the twists and action. Kayla was pretty kick-ass. Enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Not part of a series as far as I can tell.

I just read Like a Wolf with a Bone and it is a very interesting story of how Dee-Ann parents came together. This is Eggie Ray Smith and the quiet Darla Mae Lewis love story. Setting is in the early 70s in Smithville in North Carolina, but mostly in Tenn. It is a short story but has quite a bit of action. Eggie has to protect Darla form a couple of idiots that think she saw them murdering someone. He saves her in her parents own backyard and takes her away to his home in Tenn. hoping to keep her safe form harm. Little did Eggie know Darla can see right through his killing ways and sees the real Eggie that no one can see, bring out the inner peace of the harden killer that Eggie projects to the world and his family. In this story we get to see where the Lewis Sisters started the racing with the Lion sisters. We also get a glimpse in to the parents of Sara Morrighan ( Bruce & Kylie Redwolf (you can see where Sara got her anger from)) But in the later part you will get to see the fighting Lewis sisters finally get along to work out what they want to do in life that involves the town love of pies and they bakery is started.

This is a collection of two stories by two of my favorite authors.

Like a Wolf with a Bone: I'm so happy to read about Eggie and Darla Rae's story. It's almost like a prequel. Eggie and Darla are Dee-Ann's parents & I've been intrigued with their relationship since reading Dee-Ann's story (she gets a cameo in the epilogue). So you get a glimpse of everyone's older family members in their prime and it's lots of fun. The story had action, silliness, and it's actually one of the more "romantic" stories Laurentston has written. It's very sweet with lots of eye gouging and hair pulling. And of course laugh out loud moments. You can read it as a standalone but you wouldn't appreciate it as much unless you have read at least several of the books.

Wed or Dead: I had a hard time in the beginning with this story. Usually I start an Eden book and I can't put it down. But after a while, it caught. Kayla is a hunter who is supposed to take down the big bad wolf, Gage. Of course she finds out things are not what it appears. Decent story but not Eden's best but definitely not her worse. There is a lot of action but the sex scenes lack variety. Kayla, though annoying at first, did grow on me.

Good read especially if you are fan of Laurenston and Eden series.
