This 2011 book is a re-release of the same title from 2001. Meet Beanie and her fun dog Cruiser, a basset. There is so much to like about this book. One is there are some really funny quips and references. The mystery was pretty good. I found a few things confusing and maybe you might too. Why the police officer allowed our Heroine access to crime scenes and police interrogation? Why two grown men would resort to child like name calling in public. Why someone with a broken arm cant drive a car? Why after such a traumatic experience we all just go on our merry way? AND after her daughter, Wonona, is such a terrible judge of character, all of a sudden Beanie is ready to let her grow up and make her own choices. Gawd! If my daughter screwed up that bad, sending her back home in less than 24 hours would NOT be on my agenda. Ok all that to say the ending was rushed.
The rest was good, and moved well.
Lets go read book two and see if we feel the same way.

Wonderfully entertaining series. Elsie is so down-to-earth that she coul be the lady next door. Love her humor and Cruiser.
