The Worldlife Library series includes a large number of books dedicated to various animal species. My limited experience with a few books in the series has left me with a prejudice that every book in the series will contain approximately 84 pages, split almost evenly with prose and photography. The text will be accurate and easy to read not incredibly in-depth, though; after all, there are only 40 or so pages to work with! The photos will sometimes match up with the text, and other times be generic representation of the title species; most will be excellent choices.
Humpback Whales, strongly adhered to the pattern described in the prior paragraph. Author Phil Clapham shows a knowledge of his subject matter AND the ability to explain it to a non-scientific audience. AND, there are some incredible photos!!
I'm still waiting to find a disappointing book in this series, and frankly hope that I never do.
RATING: 4 stars.
