I'd forgotten how well done Nevada Barr's books are and what terrific detail they contain about the various National Parks. This book is set in Mississippi's Natchez Trace and Barr's experience as a park ranger shows clearly in her obvious love for nature in all forms. Series lovers will not be disappointed, newcomers to the series can read this standalone, but it is better if you move through the series in order as there is some character resolution from earlier books.
