I liked this book. It had several of the laugh out loud moments that Shelly Laurenston is great at. It also had the steam and romance that this author is great at!!! Neecy is a woman brought back from death by a Goddess to become one of her winged protectors (The Crows). She's not had an easy life so its hard to believe that a handsome viking like Yager could seriously be interested in her. Yager is the leader of the Ravens, the winged protectors who serve Odin. He's determined to have Neecy and she can't fight him forever. I also liked the supporting characters and look forward to their books as well.

This is the first Laurenston book I have read, and I have to say I liked it. It was a different spin on the usual romance with the man chasing the out-of-control woman. Not much about the underlying series is covered, which was fine with me, we learned enough to make the story tie together, even though I know nothing about Norse Gods. The characters in this book are absolutely hilarious! They are well written, with very different personalities. And the sex was not over the top but fit just right into the story. I can't wait to read the next one.

Paranormal erotic romance by Shelly Laurenston. This seems to be the first of a new series, The Gathering. While I am a great Laurenston fan, I did not like this book as well as her others. Neecy is a Crow - a woman who died, and was given the opportunity to serve a Nordic Goddess. The women are given wings, and fight in their Goddess's name. Jager is a Raven Warrior, serving the God Odin. Jager has it bad for Neecy, whose only purpose in her second life is to make up for the bad things she did before she died, and to be the best Crow she can be. Can Jager show Neecy that she can have more? This is a typical Laurenston, with a red-hot romance, wacky characters, fun dialogue, and lots of action. It's just that Crows and Ravens didn't do it for me. Worth reading, but not my favorite.

A slow start, but picks up nicely. I enjoyed the humor. Great cast of characters. My big issue- right now there are no more books in this series. While this could work as a stand alone (I suppose), there's an underlying storyline that could/should continue on. Also, most of the other characters are strong enough to warrant their own book and HEA.

Typical Laurenston with hilarious situations, crass dialogue, gratuitous violence, and steamy sex scenes. Will takes high-handed alph to the next level but it's just so well done that you can't help but adore it.
Loved it and it really is a laugh out loud kind of book so dont be trying to sneak some reading time at work or anything like that.
Can't wait to read the next one.
