How much does he really love his wife? And how far will he go to get her back? Mitch is just an ordinary guy living an ordinary life with the woman of his dreams. Life is very good until out-of-nowhere a group of high-tech, calculating psychos kidnap his wife and demand a ransom of two million dollars. Mitch has no clue where a lawn gardener can find that kind of money, but the kidnappers have a well thought out plan that is slowly and painfully revealed in stages. And just when you think you have everything and everyone figured out - bam! Dean Koontz takes us on another wild ride through some unimaginable twists and turns. This is another great masterpiece by the master of mystery! I find it so amazing how this writer can have me doing belly laughs one minute and pulling the covers over my head the next. Make sure you have some reading time on your hands when you pick up this book, because you are not going to want to put it down.

I used to be a big Dean Koontz fan and had kind of gotten away, but I took this with a book bazaar deal. The description didn't sound like any of his books and I picked it up with pretty low expectations, but wow! I was trying to not get into it and I was hooked by the third chapter. And the chapters are really short (usually only 5-10 pages) so it's easy to start and stop. Of course it's also next to impossible to put down because every other page has some insane plot twist that you never see coming! The Denver Post wasn't kidding when they said "Moves like a roller coaster without brakes..."

I am a real Dean Koontz fan, and this is one of his best ever. Exciting from front to back, it's a thriller all the way. I had white knuckles just reading it.
