This book was absolutely stunning. I loved it way more than I expected to! It is a YA book, but the author does not present sanitized teens and teen life - not that it's "dirty," not at all, but there is some language and sexual contact. I just appreciated the fact that she deals so candidly with some tough issues, and the characters speak and act like real teens. I could not put the book down, and I even "hid" in the bathroom one night to finish it in private!! :-) There are feels galore here, so be prepared to get emotional at some parts. I felt like my heart was breaking in two for much of the book - but I enjoy an emotional read. And I swear, for *days* after I finished, my mind kept going back to the characters - who are superbly drawn - and to the story. I felt like the two main teens were real people that I knew, it was just that good. Ahh! This is one of those books that, when you're finished, you wish you could go back and read it again for the first time! Long story short, if you like YA contemporary and are okay with lots and lots of feels, READ. THIS. BOOK.
