A beatiful book with photographs, journal articles, stories, letters written home from soldiers and to them from home,lavishly illustrated. WW II, even when the world was on the brink of annilhilation, individuals were still able to perform amazing acts of courage, sacrifice, and love. Christmas time was a time when soldiers were reminded of the most important things they were fighting for, when their families would feel their absence so acutely, and our country could reflect on vistories and losses, personal and global. This book is a tribute to those who served and those who loved them. If you are a baby boomer, these are your parents. For those who lived this time, you will enjoy this beatiful tribute to your generation.
