I'm reading this book right now, and it's so GOOD. I can't believe I've found one of those wonderful, favorite books one never forgets. I actually wanted to read her newest book, but it wasn't available and this one was - so I settled... But now I'm so glad I got this one!

The characters are real, the descriptions vibrate. The narration fantastic. I am loving it. Maybe you would too?

Just finished this book. It was so good. I learned a lot about the polio epidemic..How grateful we must be to not have to face this awful disease. The characters were really engaging and the story was heartbreaking. Would recommend.

As the main character says, "This is a love story but it's not a romance." It's a story of a family that deal with polio while running a boarding house & how the characters learn to love each other & in particular, Josef loves in a way that changes each one in the family. A sad yet lovely story of how God truly does take that which is awful in our lives & turns it to good if we will but let Him. A good read; a good reminder that we may not know why God allows what He does but that He's always with us no matter what!
