This is an excellent book about relationships of all sorts. It explores characters' actions and reactions. It can be difficult at times, but is well worth reading.

Full of remarkable characters in a beautiful seeting (Martha's Vineyard)vinateg Hoffman - full of magic, mystery and longing. A quick read you won't want to put down.
A good story, with some odd twists
strange.....but still entertaining
One the things I love about Alice Hoffman's books is her ability to take such unrelated characters and weave them into a completely logical, believable story. The other is her ability to tell such a GOOD story - it's all about the language. This book satisfies me on those two levels, but I didn't like the ending. It left me wanting more, and not in a great way. But it has left me haunted by the characters and location. Overall I liked the book, but was disappointed by the ending.
I love the magic of Hoffman's writing and this one is populated with magic and quirky characters.
Very unique style--a bittersweet read.
Another great Hoffman book. I don't think she is capable of writing a bad line.
Add this to your Alice Hoffman collection . . .just a great read!
A great read, I love the way Alice Hoffman writes!
I thought Alice Hoffman tried to invest in too many characters for such a short novel. I felt as if I was acquainted with them but did not have a chance to really know any of them. I was disapointed in this book.
