I think I'm done with Sands. Her last few books have been such disappointments. It's like she is destroying all the cool characters she has created in the past. I used to love Anders but this has to be one of the dullest book I have ever read.
It started out promising enough but went nowhere for a long time. I wished Sands had spent more time hunting the rogue because Anders and Valerie did not have enough to keep my interests. I missed all the humor and clever dialogue Sands used to employ. This one was just flat, even the scenes with everyone was a bit boring.
On top of that a lot of things didn't quite add up. I'm not sure why it never crossed Valerie's mind that Anders might be working with the Rogue. She follows him to another abandoned farmhouse because she is curious that all the other captives were brainwashed? This is after her escape from imprisonment from another abandoned farmhouse.
Anyway, the book was pretty bad and I had to force myself to finish it. If this is your first time reading Sands, her earlier stuff is better. Plus this is not one you would start with. You'll just confuse with all the characters.

I always love the characters Ms Sands brings to life in her books. Valarie and Anders were not exception. Their comedy and chemistry made this such an enjoyable book. I also love that we got to spend more time with Leigh and Lucian and visit with many other previous characters. The family is getting so large now it's hard to keep up but I won't stop trying because I love them!
This was really great. Finally the silent Anders finds his life mate and Valerie has been rescued from the house of horrors. Anders and the rest of the enforcers are called in to track down this story's rouge and his flunky that has been recapturing the women they kidnapped just to make Valerie's life a living hell, but this time Anders takes protecting Valerie to the extreme. But he come to find out this life mate dont sit around and play victim, she takes surviving in her own hands. She has to help Leigh when her contractions and keep her kidnapper unconscious at the same time until help comes.
