Parnormal, erotic romance by Cynthia Eden. Maya is a vampire vigilante to hunts and kills evil vampires and demons. Maya was a cop, who was killed viciously by a vampire, and she holds a grudge against the race. She is efficient, unforgiving, and a loner. Think Eve Dallas with fangs. Adam hates vampires, but has no choice, he needs help. Adam stalks her, and hires her to find his niece who has been abducted by vampires. But, Adam is more than he appears to be. The plot is a little predictable, the dialogue a little trite. The overall story, and romance isn't bad. The sex scenes are scorching, literally! The book is fair. There could be room for sequels for other characters in the book.

Great read. As usual, Eden delivers interesting characters and a page turning plot.
The heroine, Maya Black, was a cop when she was turned into an unwilling vampire. She considers herself a monster like the others, yet she is consistently protective of the innocent and displays a strong sense of justice. She is, however, the true monsters worst nightmare. She combines her cop experience with her vampire hunting skills to make LA a better place.
Adam Brody's nine-year-old niece was kidnapped by a pack of vampires - ones he wants the heroine to help him find. He hates vampires but is willing to pay any price - in money and blood - Maya asks. He is also a supernatural, although just what kind doesn't come clear until the middle of the book.
The plot contains lots of intense action as the pair move towards rescuing Cammie, trying to find her before she is handed over to the soon to rise Born Master vampire. Since this is a romance, there is an instant attraction between the hero and heroine. They fight it but inevitably lose...
Looking at the cover designs, this is being bracketed with Eternal Hunter and I'll Be Slaying You but it appears to be a stand-alone [at least at this time.]

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end.
This was a great read! Loved Maya and Adam. Their back-stories both explain a lot about the adults they became. I enjoyed figuring out what Adam was. I tend to like Cynthia Eden's paranormal books better than her romantic suspense novels. I "got" the romance and thought it was much better. (See the "For Me" reviews)
