I love powerful Lt. Eve Dallas and how the complex New York City crimes are solved. If you don't wanna bite her husband, don't read these books! Nora Robert's best writing is as JD Robb in this "In Death" series of some 30+ stories to date. I collect all of the JD Robb books, but skip the Roberts, whose stories are not as tight as those about Lt. Eve Dallas - ass kicker! If the future of New York is like this, I fear these futuristic killers who are sneaky and complex. The first 3 stories are my favorites.

The fountain of youth turns deady...top models will stop at nothing to further their careers, and to kill off the competition to get what they want. A good fast read. For an "In Death" novel though, I thought this one was a bit flawed, as from nearly the beginning, its pretty obvious who the major players are and that they're all lying to our heroine to protect their own interests.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think Peabody, Dallas' assistant and eventual partner, makes her first appearance in this book as well.

I rate this book 5 stars! This is yet another riviting murder mystery by J.D.Robb. This "death series" continues with the lives of Eve Dallas, New York City Cop in 2059, her Irish husband Roarke, her Aide, Peabody and a revolving cast of charachters who are always involved in solving the latest murder. You could read any of them out of order, but if you chose to read them all in order as I have been doing Robb gives references to the previous murders, and characters in the series. I find this book as well as all of the others in this suspensefilled series to make the reader want to escape to continue the story again and again! I would recommend this book to any romance/murder mystery reader. Enjoy!

I am new to J.D. Robb. I really like this series, because even though it is set in the future, it is not too far fetched.

In this third installment of JD Robb's Eve Dallas series, Eve is busy worrying about getting married to her high powered fiance Roark and trying to clear her best friend from murdering top model Pandora. There is illegal body enhancing drugs, fashion, romance, danger and a whole lot of twists and turns. I have been reading this series in order, and I must say I am enjoying it immensely. It is really cool to see the characters evolve and change into a long term relationship. Can't wait to see what happens next. Would love to see this series made into a tv show. I've read all of the J.D. Robb In Death series and the only regret I had after reading them in chronological order was that when I became current, I had to wait until the next book was written. I enjoy her characters and her writing never bogs me down with too much detail...just the right balance. A good read.
really like this series
In this Lt Dallas book, she finally marries Roark. Of course it is bucking and fighting all the way to the altar, with murder and mayhem mixed in. Lives up to the series expectations in my opinion.
Just can't say enough about this series. Keeps you turning the pages. And the relationship between Eve and Roarke is an added bonus!

If you don't care for Nora Roberts BUT love Mystery/Dark Thrillers with a side of romance and a dash of comedy - then I think you'll love J.D. Robb's ... In Death series written by Nora Roberts alter ego.
I won't go into the details of the books but will tell you this: Superb character development, continuity of the story line (which means you really need to read the books in order although they can stand alone) is top notch, the relationships that are webbed and weaved together throughout each page are phenomenal and let's the reader 'really' get to know the characters.

In the 3rd of the Eve Dallas series, Eve shopping for a wedding dress to wear to marry the billionaire Roarke. A supermodel is murdered and Eve's best friend, Mavis, becomes the prime suspect. Also suspect is Mavis's boyfriend, Leonardo, who just happens to be the designer of her wedding dress. While investigating the murder and digging up the dirt on the fashion world, Dallas discovers that the model (and most of the suspects) are either consuming or dealing a new and illegal youth serum.
It's hard to guess the murderer is in this book, but you'll want to keep reading to find out "who done it". Great and fast read.

and i got them and found out how the series began

trying to decide
if i ""NEED"" this series in paperback form on my bookshelves....might just need the rest of the books

I have read many of Robb's more recent books. I enjoyed reading about the beginnings of relationships with Roarke, Mavis and Peabody. Good book.

Nora Roberts is good no matter what type of book she writes. As an added bonus, this is part of a futuristic series giving a sneak peek at what technology might be like in the future!

This is the third book in the IN DEATH series. In this book, when a top fashion model is find murdered, Eve must clear a friend of the crime and the killings continue to pile up. All the while, Eve is trying to plan her wedding to Rourke and the dying people all around her are not helping.
