How very disappointed I was in this book. The lack of punctuation, the "English" language usage, both made this a hard read that was very distracting. I just couldn't get into the flow. After Little Bee, maybe I was expecting too much.

bleak, heartbreaking, emotionally draining, raw and yet compelling.

I loved this book! I had read Little Bee previously, and this book is equally as good.

Well written. Cleave knows how to develop his characters' voices. As a mother, it was a tough read, emotionally. I would recommend with that disclaimer.

I did not like this book at all... I think I was led to believe it was about something other then what it really is about. The woman speaking isnt very interesting and I just couldnt stay in the story and kept thinking... "Why am I reading this??" Sad because maybe if it had been writen different it could have been a GREAT story... that lost of women could have related to. Thumbs down from me.
