This book is suppose to be based on a true story and is very tense and interesting!
Six year old Ben MacDonald has the ability to communicate with animals, better than he can with people. Then one day in June of 1870 her wanders away from the family farm observe the wild creatures he loves and gets lost. His family begins a desperate search for thim that lasts all summer. Ben in the meantime thru a series of unusual events has been adopted by a female badger whose pups just died. This is a powerful story of the bond that devolpes between Ben and the badger as well as the persistance of his human family who never gave up.
