This is the first book I've read from this author and I liked it well enough to give the other books in this series a try. It's been a long time since I had trouble figuring out the "who done it" but this one I didn't quite figure out until I read the ending. I do wish the author had delved a little more into the lead character's personality and what makes her tick but the mystery and story itself was quite good. I hesitated in purchacing this book (at a thrift store) as the lead character is a 92 year old woman - Wasn't sure how THAT was going to play out but ended up really liking the character - she reminded me a bit of my great-grandmother who died at age 98 and was a force to be reckoned with until the very end.
If you like cozy mysteries that have a really interesting main character, you will love this series. Victoria Trumbull is ninety-two-year-old native of Marthas Vineyard who keeps getting caught up in mysteries that she ends up solving. The author does a great job of describing the surroundings and life on Marths's Vineyard.

While some in the Native Indian tribe push to bring a casino to the Indian lands on the Island, others are opposing the proposal. A series of killings gets Victoria Trumball, 92 YO island resident, involved in solving the mystery. In the pursuit of justice, Victoria is threatened, kidnapped and almost a victim herself. Good book in the series. The descriptions of Martha's Vineyard and it's people are very good!
