The idea that reading aloud can actually bring book characters out into our world is delightful. I read this book to my 9 year old and we both enjoyed it - fun characters, moments of excitement, but sometimes a lot of back and forth between settings. We also saw the movie before finishing it, and it may be the only time in my life that I preferred a movie ending to a book ending.
