Intersections: The Sycamore Hill Anthology
Intersections The Sycamore Hill Anthology Author:John Kessel (Editor), Mark L. Van Name (Editor), Richard Butner (Editor) In 1994, some of the brightest stars of science fiction gathered for the Sycamore Hill workshop, putting their stories in the forge of their colleagues' collective critical wisdom. The result is Intersections, an original anthology on the cutting edge of the field. — Appendix II is a list of Sycamore Hill Attendees. The stories were all... more » written especially for the Sycamore Hill workshop, and are, in their final form here, the results of commentary by the other members of the group.
Each story is followed by workshop comments: each writer has created a commentary about the experience of the workshop itself -- what the group and its comments meant to him or her. And as a bonus for readers interested in the writers' workshop experience, or in forming their own critique group, Intersections contains the "Turkey City Lexicon", a glossary of useful terms for critiquing science fiction stories, codified by the Turkey City workshop in Austin, Texas, and adopted by many writers' workshops around the world.
