Although this book is from 1997, which seems so long ago, it is current with the ideas of the world today.

It was a quick read and totally addicting. The ending was a total shock! On every page turned there was an unexpected turn of events or a suprising event that you'd never expect to happen.

If you like science fiction, than you'll love this book.

I highly recommend this book! You'll get lost in it!

This was a great read. I usually am not a Robin Cook fan, but I got this one because it is about aliens and it was very entertaining. I recommend it.

Fans of Robin Cook's many thrillers will be happy to know another one is on the way. In this latest outing, Invasion, Cook envisions a contact with extraterrestials that is closer to Alien than to E.T.. A gigantic spaceship arrives in the stratosphere to dump some black disks onto Earth. Touch these things at your own risk, however; unsuspecting souls who handle the disks receive a sting, soon followed by flulike symptoms and ending in a kind of zombie assimilation into the alien consciousness. And make no mistake: these aliens are up to no good--we know this because the victims of the UFO-flu are soon transformed into hideous reptilian creatures.
Apparently, one consequence of being trapped by the aliens is that victims lose all semblance of natural speech--most notably, contractions. The book abounds in dialogue such as, "You must flee, Cassy," and "The electrical grid has been interrupted. There will be no force counteracting the antigravity ..." Still, readers looking for a good beach or bathtub book will find Invasion is right on the money.

I didn't realize this book was a bit sci-fi when I started reading it. When I realized it was I was a bit dissapointed, not being much of a sci-fi fan, but this was actually a very good book!

With his finger on the pulse of the latest medical technology, Robin Cook preys on our deepest fears with uncanny skill. Now, in the most provocative thriller to date, he explores a sudden outbreak of strange new symptoms that defy diagnosis. The cause is unknown -- and unknownable -- because it is unlike anything humankind has ever seen...

This book kept my interest all the way through. It was a good science fiction read. Robin Cook hasn't written a book I didn't like.

Invastion is exciting, well-written, and fun. Robin Cook almost always surprises me with a new twist in his inventiveness. If you enjoy mystery and science fiction, this book will entertain you too.

A change of pace for Cook who pulls out all the stops in this heart-racing account of people being taken over by mysterious beings without even realizing it. I couldn't stop reading!

I hate to give a book a 1 but Cook tries to earn it here. Maybe he should leave science fiction to the guys that are good at it. If you want to get on a soapbox about helping the environment then don't do it in the guise of space alien virus that mutates people toward green living. It was poorly written, poor premise, and absurd ending.

This book was quite OK. This book is more science fiction, but with a medical bent to it. I felt it was a modern-day version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," and I couldn't get that thought out of my mind for the duration of the entire novel. The characters are great, and believeable, and the plot was fine, just not as great as his other books.

This was a weird one. Robin Cook makes a foray into science fiction territory with this story of how ordinary people are turned into human/alien hybrid zombies - obsessed, no less, with improving the environment. The story was pretty out there, but I have to say it was at least somewhat entertaining.

Is it a virus? Is it a bacteria? or is it Something else altogether?

People become very ill, almost to the point of death and then recover feeling better than they ever have.

Then they almost all become followers of the latest Evangelist for the environment.
