I just finished reading this book, and all I can say is WOW! I will warn you, I had to get the tissues out towards the end. This book is a much darker and somber book than the other two. I have read many reviews of this book and I keep hearing people whine about "Where was Stephan?" Well, since he wasn't in the first book, why would we expect him in the third??? This book was primarily about the fae, specifically Zee, her former boss, and the conclusion of the love triangle between Mercy and the two werewolves. We get to see more about the darker side to the fae then was brough out in the first two books. Character development remains superb throughout this book. I gave it 5 stars. If you are looking for a "happy ending" this book might not be for you, but if you like a book where you can really connect with the characters and know that at the end of the day good will triumph over evil, you will enjoy this book.

This is book 3 of the Mercedes Thompson series. Mercy, a VW mechanic who can shapeshift into a coyote, can't help sticking her nose into things when her friends are in danger, even when they tell her to back off. Book 1 was Mercy helping werewolves, book 2 was helping the vampires, and in book 3 she's involved with the fae. This time the problem is that her mentor Zee is being charged with murder. Mercy feels she must prove his innocence to save his life, even though he tells her to get lost. There is a resolution to the love triangle Mercy is involved in since book 1. I was pleased with it. It felt like her decision was inevitable but I liked how her choice was explained. I think you can probably read this book out of order, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's a lot better knowing what happened in books 1 and 2. Also - this felt like a different kind of book from 1 and 2 to me - more visceral, less escapist. This series remains one of my favorites.

It's rare to see a series getting better and better. This installment we see more character development and the end of the triangle between Mercy and her two weres, liked her choice at the end. I gotta tell you, it really got me. Mercy is one strong loyal coyote. You see how fae politics play out and you see a very dark face of the fae that you won't find in children tales.

I ended reading the book like five minutes ago and left me speechless. So much changes and drama to over come, and what she has to overcome will not be easy. Hope she release the next book soon.

This series is best when read in order; Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed.

I love the Mercy character, and like the first two books, I expected Mercy to thrive and survive whatever challenges she must face. however, I will warn that this installment will really get you. I was so emotionally swept up in Mercy's story by the final few chapters. I brings up emotion you might not expect from a fae romp with werewolves and ghosties. I began reading expecting one kind of story, and finished with something really profound. The book summary tells you the basic plotline-- Mercy has to come to the aid of her mentor, Zee to save him, in spite of himself and the Fae community turning on him and Mercy. The story progresses nicely, but comes to a startling and especially wrenching conclusion. I dare anyone to make it through this book with dry eyes! Neverfear, Mercy will be back, but her journey is a tough one.

I have a new series to love! Patricia Briggs has restored my faith in a genre that is constantly recycling the same tired plots and ideas. The third installment of the Mercy Thompson series is truely heart wrenching. The author tackles a dark topic that she handles with a sense of true sincerity and as a survivor, that says something to me. The only problem with this is that it left me wanting more! I cannot wait for the next book.

Wow! That's all you really need to know about this third book about Mercy Thompson. When a friend is framed for a murder, she gets up to her little coyote nose in more trouble with powerful fae and the local werewolf pack, not to mention trying to keep her mechanic business afloat. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I love, love, love this series! I can't put it down once I start. My only complaint they are too short, I could live in Mercy's world forever. I was very worried about how the Adam/Samuel/Mercy triangle would play out, was very happy with the resolution. The sexual tension between Adam and Mercy increasing is hot and sweet at the same time. Mercy is as always kick ass but you do get to see a bit more sensitive side to her this time. My heart ached for her and her agonizing over her revolation about her feelings for Adam and Samuel. I mean who doesn't still have that place in their heart for their first love. Then during her attack when she kept feeling so guilty and her thoughts always turned to Adam and her percieved betrayal, my heart broke. Adam steping up to be the man she needs him to be to truely be her Mate and lover made me swoon. I have never been sure of my feelings for Ben, I was on the fence, good guy or bad guy. Well..No longer, Ben tipped the scales for me to 100% good guy. You just never know what is around the corner in this series. Then of course in true Mercy fashion, she overcomes and the book ends on a very positive note! This book is a bit darker than the first two but, it is also faster paced and while I throughly enjoyed 1 and 2 this one had me glued. This is a fantastic series, the perfect combo of Kim Harrison's The Hollows/Rachel Morgan and Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse. Two series' that I love, and now to have what I love about both put together makes me a very happy reader.

In this book mercy picks her mate and tries to clear Zees name as hes been accused of murder. Mercy (as usual) gets herself into some sticky situations and ends up in the company of royalty. Its action packed and has some good scenes with Adam and some heartfelt issues with Samuel.

Briggs does not disappoint.

This is the third book in the Mercy Thompson series. When Mercy's friend Zee gets arrested for murder she tries her best to find out the real guilty party. This was a very good story but I felt that it left me wanting more.

If you are familiar with Mercy Thompson, this book will delight you with her quirky ways and her usual ability to get herself into trouble. If this is the first time you are meeting Mercy, please put this down and read "Moon Called" first. While you don't necessarily have to read the series in order, you will miss details if you don't start at the beginning.

"Iron Kissed" was really beginning to look like all the other books in the series with Mercy being either asked or forced into helping with a supernatural mystery and ending up getting herself into trouble before fighting her way out. This series never disappoints but is usually one of the lighter of the supernatural mysteries. Right around page 230, things take a dramatic and violent turn. Although some of the story isn't for the faint of heart, it is really worth pushing past all of that to get to a beautiful and intense scene between Ben and Adam. I know I have written about crying during books before, but this scene took me by such surprise that I just couldn't help myself. If this book ever is made into a film, that scene will be worthy of a nomination.

Overall, a great read. I couldnt put the last quarter of it down and continued to read way past the time I should have been making dinner.

I loved how the love triangle was resolved. (See how things can work when you actually talk about it!!!!) I have a new respect for Ben. My only complaint is I think the book ended a bit abruptly (and I can't say more without being spoilery for anyone who hasn't read it. But, I think, anyone who has read it will understand exactly what I'm talking about/referring to).

Mercy is a very brave woman, a German car mechanic, and a skin walker, which allows her to turn into a coyote. I just love this series and keep all of my copies for repeat readings. I loved the Gremlins, werewolves, Vampires and other creatures Briggs crafted for this story.

Loved loved loved this book. I love the fact that Mercy is not a big and bad heroine. She may have the least amount of physical strength of all the characters but she more than makes up for it in character. I have already started Bone Crossed and am beginning to feel the sadness associated with coming to the end of a series for characters you love and I still have two books to read! I just hope the Alpha and Omega series is half as good as Mercy Thompson!

This is a great series. I'll admit, being a VW enthusiast and married to VW mechanic is what drew me to these books, but I've found myself rereading them over and over. They're that good - the kind of books that become old friends.

Absolutely loved the Mercy Thompson books. The character development is great and I love how the stories take on new characters in every book. I also like how the books are other world, but not so much romance. This is also a good PG13 book for young girls who like the Twilight saga

I have really enjoyed this series so far about the werewolves, fae and vampires. This is the third book and I started out a little wary of this series. However, I've thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and excitement. This book I think has built well onto the first two books. Try it , you'll like it!

Love, love love Patricia Briggs! This was also a great read with lots of action and people/magical people problems. Briggs does not write drippy, constant love scenes. But the tension and passion is there all the same, and even better than in-your-face constantly stuff. She's a great story teller!

The Fey insist on policing their own and Mercy's former boss, Zee is on trial with them. Well, she's not just going to sit & stay like a good little coyote. She's going to clear Zee's name and kick some ass while she's at it.

The imagination of Patricia Briggs leaves me speechless at times.

I've been spending a lot of time with my new friend Mercy Thompson lately, having read the first three books in her series in the past two weeks. I had a hard time getting engrossed in Iron Kissed, and was concerned that the spell was broken.

Then the story got going and forced me to stay up until 2 a.m. frantically turning pages, because I couldn't go to sleep until I had unravelled the story's mystery.

Like all of the other books in Patricia Briggs' Mercedes Thompson series, the story is rooted in a magical world where werewolves, vampires and walkers live among humans in relative harmony. This installment focuses on the fae world, as Mercy is forced to defend her mentor and surrogate father Zee, a "gremlin" that has been framed for murder. Mercy, of course, is bent on sniffing out the real killer and exhonerating her friend -- but there are powerful forces at work against her.

The relationships in the series move along (finally!) in this installment, which made me happy. Briggs tends to focus more on the supernatural mystery aspects of her stories and sometimes neglects to also progress the secondary romance storyline, but Iron Kissed finally answered some long-awaited questions on that front -- and built some major anticipation for the newly released fourth book in the series, Bone Crossed.

What an exciting book! I really enjoyed this third installment of the Mercy Thompson series. It will be a long few weeks while I wait for the fourth book! But at least there is another series that takes place in this same world (The Alpha and Omega series) that I am anxious to start reading. I am really enjoying this - a new series is always a lot of fun to get interested in!

Summary: When her former boss and mentor is arrested for murder and left to rot behind bars by his own kind, it's up to shape-shifting car mechanic Mercy Thompson to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not. And she'll have to choose between the two werewolves in her life-whether she wants to or not.

This book is the third in the Mercedes Thompson series, I also think it is the best so far. I was riveted to this book after the first few chapters, the others were good, but this one was absolutely amazing. The first two books had the Laurell K. Hamilton feel, as I said before; Briggs completely separated herself from Hamilton with this book. I love the throw back Briggs did with some of the real old fairy tales, as well as making her heroine real, we know Mercy isn't a human, but neither is she invincible. I liken her to another my favorite characters, Sookie Stackhouse. I also LOVE that Mercy finally chooses between Adam and Sam...that was just getting to be ridiculous.

I was plesantly surprised by this. I enjoyed this series and though this felt like an ending, I think Briggs can continue a great series with the interesting characters she has created.

This is the novel where Mercy chooses who she is going to be with, Adam or Samuel...we have been guessing since book 1, Moon Called. Patricia handles this in a fascinating way that I won't spoil here, but I really liked.

Her novels are very fast paced and she also creates realistic fantasy worlds. This book deals with the Fae.

I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys or wants to try Urban Fantasy. Also, if you are a romance fan, this book should be on your must read list.

Third in the series; you could start here as I believe Briggs gives enough background info on the characters and previous events - but you're going to miss a lot of character development. Best to start at the beginning. Nice pacing, some interesting ethical conflicts for Mercy, and more information about the fae. I especially liked the scene with Austin's ghost at the end. Curious to know if Briggs is going to give Mercy a little PTSD from these events, because that would surely scar a person for a while.

Very disappointed! It took a good hundred pages to get the story moving and Mercy didn't truly shine until the last hundred. The choosing between Adam and Sam was so anticlimantic I thought it was designed as a twist...it's wasn't.
